— A Raleigh man spent Valentine's Day behind bars after being charged in five peeping-tom incidents.

Raleigh police arrested Erik Tyrone Walker, 27, of Chemistry Road, Thursday on four counts of peeping into a room occupied by a female. Walker also faces charges of first-degree burglary.

One peeping-tom incident occurred on Dec. 18, 2007. Police did not specify where the incidents happened.

Walker broke into a home on Cotton Mill Drive early Dec. 26, 2007, "with the intent to commit a larceny," the arrest warrant for Walker read. A woman was home at the time.

Walker was being held under a $500,000 bond.

These kind of problems do escalate. The creep started peeking and then he busted in while the female was in the house! Just a Peeping Tom in need of a quick fix, I think not. Tell him to buy a playboy if this is normal. Keep him off the streets and get him serious help.

Escalate was right. It is obvious that he wanted to do more than just peep. I'm sure he was watching girls go and come home every day. People need to be aware of their surroundings at all times and it would not hurt to keep a baseball bat beside the bed. I hope he doesn't get out of jail to do it to some unsuspecting young girl in the future.

"Voice, these types of people do tend to escalate..."

and that's why he should be seeing a court-ordered psychologist. That would be treatment to help him learn how to control his 'urges.' However, he should not be punished for something he hasn't done, just on the likelyhood that he might commit crimes in the future.

Your History Lesson for the day:

The story goes that the townsfolk agreed not to observe Godiva as she passed by, but that Peeping Tom broke that trust and spied on her.

I know why they call them "Peeping Toms", but it seems like an outdated phrase that might offend someone named "Tom" (in this case it's a "Peeping Erik").

Voice, these types of people do tend to escalate...

Peeping tom is bad enough. But breaking and entering, that's going way, way to far. Looks like his escapades just escalated.
