Man struck, injured by car in Fayetteville

One man was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being struck by a car in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being struck by a car in Fayetteville.

Authorities said a 2002 Mitsubishi driven by LaShawn Peterson, 57, of the 3600 block of Rockhurst Drive, was traveling south on Owen Drive at about 6:40 p.m. when it collided with a pedestrian walking east.

The pedestrian, identified as Jeremy Karpinecz, 45, of the 500 block of Lumberly Lane, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.
