Man struck by car while lying in yard at Aberdeen home

An Aberdeen man was injured after being struck by a car while lying in his yard Saturday evening.

ABERDEEN, N.C. — An Aberdeen man was injured after being struck by a car while lying in his yard Saturday evening.

Authorities responded to the 600 block of Arnold Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. and found a man underneath a car that had pulled into the yard of the home.

The driver of the car told authorities that he did not see the man lying on the ground when he pulled off the road.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to an area trauma center, authorities said.

Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
