Man strikes neighbor with 2x4, then waits for deputies

When Hoke County deputies arrived at 4239 Old Maxton Highway in Red Springs on Sunday, they found Charles Junior Rowsey sitting in a chair waiting for them and Garrett Locklear on the ground with a laceration to his head.

RED SPRINGS, N.C. — When Hoke County deputies arrived at 4239 Old Maxton Highway in Red Springs on Sunday, they found Charles Junior Rowsey sitting in a chair waiting for them and Garrett Locklear on the ground with a laceration to his head.

Rowsey, 50, struck Locklear with a 2x4 while they argued at his home, deputies said. The men are neighbors.

Rowsey was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
