Man stabbed near Hillsborough Street in Raleigh

— Raleigh police on Tuesday evening responded to a stabbing near Hillsborough Street.

Just after 11 p.m., Franklin Kornegay, 66, stabbed Jimmy Reid Holder, 48, during an argument at 116 St. Mary's St., police said.

Paramedics transported Holder to WakeMed for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and he was later released.

Kornegay was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, police said. His first court appearance was scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday.

    The address sounds like the Carrige House apartment building. Isn't it subsidized to house older people and others who can't take care of themselves? Not saying this is ok, but it sounds like an "off their meds" story like the one in Holly Springs.

    Also, according to reality, this type of thing happens a lot more in Durham. With able-bodied folks with grudges to settle, as opposed to people turned away from mental hospital facilities because they aren't wealthy/Real American-y enough.
