Man stabbed in fight at Smithfield gas station

— A man was stabbed during a fight at a Smithfield gas station, police said.

Police said the fight broke out at the Kangaroo Expresss at 1137 N. Brightleaf Blvd. around 9:15 p.m.

The victim, whose name wasn't released, was taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

No arrests have been made amid the ongoing investigation.

    Depends on the severity of the wound. JMH isn't a trauma center so anything considered a trauma is sent to Wakemed. Also, it could have been patient's choice.

    Or Raleigh area after reading all the weekend news of stabbings and shootings. Its just not bad in Durham anymore its everywhere in NC. When we first moved here 25 yrs ago it was a calm area and now its just crime stories all the time....sad

    Clayton is no better. It's only going to get worse. Too many people moving here. Gone are the days where everyone knew your name and neighbors being good neighbors.
