Man sought in Raleigh grocery store purse theft

Police are looking for a man who stole a woman's purse at a Raleigh Harris Teeter Sunday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are looking for a man who stole a woman's purse at a northwest Raleigh grocery store over the weekend.

Investigators said the woman was shopping at Harris Teeter, at 3201 Edwards Mill Road, Sunday afternoon when the man snatched the purse from her shopping cart and left the store.

The man, captured on surveillance video, is white, in his 30s to early 40s and of medium height and weight. He was wearing a light-colored T-shirt with an unidentified design on the back.

Police are asking that anyone who might recognize the man to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357 or report a tip at the Raleigh Crime Stoppers website, www.raleighcrimestoppers.org.
