Man sought in Holly Springs armed robbery

— Holly Springs police were searching on Friday for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a KFC/Taco Bell restaurant off the N.C. Highway 55 bypass. 

According to authorities, the man robbed the restaurant around 8:40 p.m. Thursday after approaching the counter wearing a mask and displaying a gun. 

No shots were fired and no employees or customers were injured, but the man did steal an undisclosed amount of money, police said. Authorities said the robber was a black man wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants.

    "An outreach program could have sent this lost soul in a different direction than a life of crime." Umm, okay. maybe. But the threat of some severe punishment might have also deterred him from committing this sort of crime. We are too soft on crime!
