Man sought in Durham homicide

Durham County authorities have identified a person of interest in a recent homicide and asked Monday for the public's help in finding him.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham County authorities have identified a person of interest in a recent homicide and asked Monday for the public's help in finding him.

Saul Botello Abrimz, 31, was found shot to death inside a home at 212 Andrews Chapel Road – off of Leesville Road near Raleigh – on Dec. 11.

Investigators are searching for Alex Antonio Cruz Alvarado, 33, in the case. Alvarado, who also goes by the name Alex Lainez, is wanted for larceny of a motor vehicle and might be driving a stolen white 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with North Carolina license plate BMP-3978.

Alvarado has lived at several different places in Durham, including 1707 Avondale Drive, a body shop at 826 E. Trinity Ave., 5314 Hadrian Drive, 4609 Tyne Drive and 421 Edward St. Authorities said he also might have fled to Conroe, Texas, or San Pedro, Honduras.
