Man sought in attempted robbery at Durham bank

— Police say a man in his late 50s or early 60s tried to rob a Durham bank Wednesday afternoon.

The attempted robbery at Yadkin Bank, at 115 E. Carver St., happened shortly before 3 p.m. when the man handed a teller a note demanding money.

He left without taking anything, police said, although they did not say why.

The man was black, had scruffy facial hair and was wearing a beige jacket with a fur collar, a blue hat, khaki pants and black shoes.

    Looks like he succeeded today at the BB&T 1100 block of NC 54 Hwy next to Jordan High School. Other outlets have the story. Jordan was put on lockdown this am. Same description, except he was wearing pajama pants today.
