Man Slain in Doorway of Durham Home
Police said the victim answered the door and was confronted by two men who shot him to death.

DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man was shot and killed in the doorway of his home Tuesday night, the second killing at a residence in the city in two nights.
Roderick Lynn Butler, 39, of 510 Burlington Ave., answered the door at 510-A Burlington Ave. just before 9 p.m., and two men shot him and ran off, police said.
One man was described as wearing a red shirt and the other a white shirt, but police had no more information, they said.
Butler was taken to Duke University Hospital and pronounced dead a short time after the shooting, police said.
