Man shot twice in Fayetteville

Bullets struck a man twice during a shooting on Amarillo Drive Monday afternoon, Fayetteville police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Bullets struck a man twice during a shooting on Amarillo Drive Monday afternoon, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responded to calls about a shooting at 7038 Amarillo Drive, near South Reilly Road, shortly before 2 p.m. Investigators said they found a man in his late 30s or early 40s who had been shot in his side and in his arm.

The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was undergoing surgery. He was listed in serious condition Monday evening.

Police were continuing to investigate the shooting.
