Police in Kinston were investigating the Friday morning shooting death of a man.

<b>KINSTON, N.C.</b> — Police in Kinston were investigating the Friday morning shooting death of a man.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of George Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. regarding the shooting and found a 21-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

The man, whose name hasn't been released, was pronounced dead at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Kinston Public Safety at 252-939-3160 or the TIPS LINE at 252-939-4020.
