Man shot to death in Roanoke Rapids home

A 38-year-old man was killed and a second person critically injured in a shooting at a Roanoke Rapids home late Sunday, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A 38-year-old man was killed and a second person injured in a shooting at a Roanoke Rapids home late Sunday, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Lt. B.L. Martin said that Thomas Tyrone Davis was killed in the shooting at a Delta Drive home around 11 p.m. The second victim was taken to a local hospital and was in critical condition Monday.

Witnesses said they saw a white Ford Crown Victoria pull up to the house and a man get out and go into the house, Martin said. The man then ran out of the house, jumped in the car and sped away toward N.C. Highway 158.
