Man seriously injured in shooting outside Durham supermarket

A man was seriously injured Monday evening in a shooting outside Los Primos Supermarket in the 1100 block of East Main Street, Durham police said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man was seriously injured Monday evening in a shooting outside Los Primos Supermarket in the 1100 block of East Main Street, Durham police said. 

Officers responded to a disturbance call at the supermarket about 5:10 p.m., and shortly after they were sent to the 600 block of East Main Street to check on a man who had been shot. 

The man was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. Investigators said he was shot outside the supermarket.

Witnesses said a male suspect with a stocky build returned following the shooting to pick up shell casings. He was seen leaving the area in a red pickup truck.
