Man shot in southeast Raleigh

print friendly

A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in southeast Raleigh late Saturday afternoon, police said.

The shooting happened at the dead end of Carlisle Street. Police said they also received reports of gunshots in the area a half-hour earlier and are trying to determine if the incidents are related.

The victim, whose name wasn't released, is not cooperating with investigators, police said. No arrests have been made.

It's the second shooting on Carlisle Street in the past two months. Jose Antonio Baez, 25, was found dead in his 1113½ Carlisle St. home on Oct. 14. Three men have been charged with murder in his death.

Piene, for once I agree with you. The police need civilian oversight—really meaningful oversight, and not just a token civilian that pays them lip service. It's one of the reasons I hate the idea of the police administering handgun permits, etc. Giving them discretion to reject permits introduces too much latitude for discrimination.

"Look at the Mt. Olive police department in Wayne County, busted on targeting hispanics then taking thier cash during the stop.

and lets add the Zebulon, Durham and Wake county police have been accused and investigated for the same crimes NiceNSmooth"

What is needed are civilian review boards to watch the cops every move.

Only nine rounds? I am truly surprised that all the NRA Yahoos are not toting machine guns around in violin cases or something like that. Next it will be howitzers in front of their trailers. piene2

Nah, permits/classification cost too much. Im a GOA guy anyway.

piene2.....So it couldn't be the fault of this loser that got shot not wanting to co-operate.....he could do somehting about getting an illegal gun off the street.....so that those of us that carry legally would have to worry about another worthless human being breaking into our homes and hurting or killing our families. Wake Up!
