turban08 and bryanspam are trying to stir up anti-Durham sentiment. It appears to be working

  • gmuny33 Oct 21, 2011

You all still just don't want to show any accountability for your own crime and criminals. Further proof of the portrayal of one city and the reality of another.

  • turbo08 Oct 21, 2011

Most of the time persons who commit these crimes are from Durham and come to Raleigh to spread the violence around a little

  • bryanpam Oct 21, 2011

The shooter was probably from Durham.

I live just east of Raleigh, but agree with the Durham folks commenting. It really sounds like Raleigh people are trying to make themselves feel better by disparaging Durham. Raleigh has some crime, we need to deal with that.

Shuffles24 - "With the exception of some of North Durham, most of the downtown area, south durham, east durham and outside of Duke University property are awful places."

You are clueless about Durham. Southern Durham has some of the best real estate in the Triangle. You and the rest of your ilk think that ALL of Durham is "the projects". I have lived in Durham since 1988 and the only crime even close to my neighborhood has been white collar crime.

  • gmuny33 Oct 21, 2011

No matter the crime location in the triangle, people still find a way to degrade Durham. Raleigh is so biased, the article list it as Eas Raleigh, but when it's Durham, it doesn't matter east, north, west or south when it comes to WRAL and these commentors. Crime is everywhere, but Raleigh, Cary refuses to acknowledge their own. Just fess up to it, crime is in Raleigh as well, but Durham is portrayed negative because it is thought to be of an African American city, and now they link East Raleigh into the same. Wake up people, neither city is any better, just the portrayal is different.

Well, thanks for sharing your concern. I'm sorry you feel so uncomfortable. Be extra sure you get a house as FAR away from Durham as possible! That way you will be guaranteed that you will never have any issues with crime.

You should read a bigger map. The scale will show you the mileage difference between East Raleigh and West Raleigh.--venitapeyton

And your point is exactly???? LOL. If I need to read a bigger map, you should reread the comment. The comment should reveal the difference in your matter of fact statement and my hint of sarcasm. ;-)

Crime is everywhere! It doesn't matter if it's in Raleigh or Durham. Crime is crime!
