Man shot in burglary at his Zebulon home

— A man was shot by two people trying to burglarize his Zebulon home on Sunday, according to a search warrant returned Thursday.

The warrant states that the victim was in the bedroom of his home on N.C. Highway 97 when two people entered the house, tried to rob him and then shot him during the confrontation.

According to a search warrant for the home, Wake County sheriff's investigators took a blood sample and seized condoms, a hospital bill, money order receipt, light bulb, wooden dowel rod and notebook paper with a phone number on it from the house.

No arrests have been made.

    Strange that these items would have been taken from the victim. Obviously there is more to the story that isn't reported here.
