Man Shot in Attempted Robbery Outside Raleigh Club

An armed robber shot at two men who resisted him outside a Raleigh club in the early hours of Sunday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was injured after resisting a would-be robber outside a Raleigh night club early Sunday morning.

Raleigh police said a man armed with a gun approached two men sitting in their car on Paula Street near Hodges Street at about 3.a.m.. The man then fired the gun at the men, shooting one in the chest.

The shooting victim, Ezquel Cortes-Cuevus, was taken to WakeMed with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police interviewed a person of interest in the shooting, but did not file charges.
