— Authorities released the names Thursday of three people killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a Cumberland County home late Wednesday.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said deputies were called to 8254 Cedar Creek Road, southeast of Fayetteville, shortly after 10 p.m., where they found the bodies of Doris Henrietta Robinson, 80, Lewis Elwood Robinson, 65, and Bobby Joe Bullard, 30.

Investigators said they believe Bullard went to Doris Robinson's home to confront his girlfriend, 25-year-old Loretta Robinson, who is Doris Robinson's granddaughter. When Doris Robinson refused to let him inside, Bullard became angry and began shooting, Tanna said.

Shots struck Doris Robinson and her son, Lewis Robinson – Loretta's Robinson's uncle – before Bullard ran into Cedar Creek Road near the home and shot himself in the head, Tanna said.

"I think the fact that he brought a weapon to the house of a woman who didn't want to see him speaks for itself." - Whatever27

Some of you gun nuts are always armed. You could be going to church or to your kid's soccer game and you pack your gun with you. That's why all these stupid crimes happen - people in the heat of the moment have a gun available. Obviously, once he calmed down and realized what he had done, he could not bear to live with his actions. Had he not had the gun, three people may still be alive. With the gun, three people are dead.

If he had a knife, the grandmother and uncle would probably still be alive. Not like he could stab them through the door when they did not let him inside. But he could, and did, shoot through it and kill them.

At least he was sane enough to save us the cost of trial and then provideing him with housing medical and food for the rest of his life. He could have come through a window the sad part is Uncle nor grandma had a gun to shoot him with first.

My condolences to the family in their loss. I hope the girl friend now realize what kind of man he was. May she choose wisely in the future in what she will allow in her life.

Teleman60- If his intentions weren't to kill someone, why did he bring a gun?

I think the fact that he brought a weapon to the house of a woman who didn't want to see him speaks for itself.

Rabbit, your premise is wrong. He came looking for the girl. He did not come to kill 2 elderly people who just happened to be on the other side of a locked door. Without the gun he could try all day to attack with a butcher knife but I think he would still have been outside, tired and mad but all still alive..

For all you anti gun folks out there could we at least agree on one simple element of this story? The killer didn't want them hurt. He wanted them dead.
Your premise that removing the gun from this story doesn't address the fact that he wanted them dead. You assume that he would crawl into a corner and cry out his anger is pretty far out there. My point, in case you missed it, is that he would have found a way to kill those he wanted killed.

We need to start compiling a list of the gun violence incidents/deaths that are happening nearly every day. As a shooter and gunsmith this all makes my stomach turn. Where did all these guns come from? Are they registered? Registered to who? I'm sure my thoughts will generate a wave of response.

How do the police and sheriffs deal with the daily body count? All this needless death over stupid nothing. If the gun wasn't there all these people would be still mad but they'd still be alive...
