FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man shot by Fayetteville police during a traffic stop two months ago has died, police said Wednesday.

Lawrence Edward Graham III, 20, was shot twice in the back by Officer Denton Little on Mat 1 when he fled from a traffic stop on Sourwood Drive near Lakecrest Drive, police said. Investigators recovered a stolen gun near where Graham collapsed.

Graham was treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and released, but a police spokeswoman said he was rushed back to the hospital Tuesday and died.

It was unclear if his death was related to the shooting.
