A man was shot during a "large disturbance" at a Burlington sports club early Sunday, police said.

<b>BURLINGTON, N.C.</b> — A man was shot during a "large disturbance" at a Burlington sports club early Sunday, police said.

Deron C. Wiley, 28, of Burlington, was shot once in the left side outside 778 Sports Club at 778 S. Graham Hopedale Road around 2:20 a.m., police said. He was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Police said more than 200 people were at the club, and officers had to call in other departments to help with crowd control.

Investigators have not identified a suspect.
