Teen dies after Durham shooting

— A 17-year-old wounded in a weekend shooting in Durham has died, police said Tuesday.

Officers found Kaaylon Pamplin in the driver's seat of a vehicle at the intersection of Nebo Street and Burlington Avenue on Saturday morning.

He died at Duke University Hospital.

Police are searching for a red or burgundy Dodge Magnum with tinted windows in connection with the shooting.

Anyone with information about the car or the shooting is asked to call the Durham Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

    People know who commit these crimes, they just live in fear of being the next victim. People should not have to live this way yet when caught the guilty are supported by friends and family making claims of profiling and racial injustice, they want it to stop but do little to prevent it.muggs

    I worked these neighborhoods for years. These folks think this lifestyle is the coolest thing in the world and people who are shocked are weak. I've often wondered if just after the bullets have ripped through the body and one realizes they are dieing if that hip, cool outlook changes.
