— Troopers say a driver hit and killed a man who was walking in the middle of the road on Interstate 95 near mile marker 125 Tuesday night.

The man's name was not released. However, authorities said he was a Hispanic man in his 20s. The driver will not be charged, officials said.

It was unclear why the man was walking on the highway.

In CA. in the San Diego area, there are actual signs that have pictures of people crossing the hwy... letting you know to be aware of pedestrians crossing, mind you this is like a 12 lane hwy. Then run across, with kids.

I remember asking my parents, why when I was young, they told me it was poor people trying to come to America for a better life.

I better understand now, of course. They were being nice and 'PC' then.

either the man walking was intoxicated or badly lost. A friend of mine killed a person on an interstate a long time ago. It was at night, a man that was drunk just walked out into the road. My friend was unable to stop in time. He never got over it. Even though he realized there was nothing more he could have done and he was not speeding, he never got over having killed this guy. But when you are traveling 65 MPH at night, you just do not have much time to react to something like that.
