Man killed, three injured after fight at Greenville club

— A Pitt County man was shot and killed and three others injured early Saturday during a fight that began in a downtown Greenville club and spilled out into the streets.

Police said someone fired gunshots near East Fourth and Evans streets around 1:30 a.m., striking four people. Dontae Montrel Haddock, 21, of Ayden, was pronounced dead at Vidant Medical Center. The conditions and identities of the three injured people have not been released.

Police said they were interviewing some witnesses, but many of them have been uncooperative.

    GPD does make a physical presence known in this area of DT.. I'm not sure how/why no cop didn't see this... especially at that time when the clubs are about to close.

    There seem to more and more of these kind of stories coming out of Greenville. The downtown bar area near campus that used to be frequented primarily by students has become a gathering place for criminals.

    I hope everyone's delighted with all the shootings happening lately. The more people carrying guns, leggy and otherwise, the more people are going to be shot. It is just that simple.
