— Raleigh police arrested three men Thursday in the shooting death of a 25-year-old man died late Wednesday outside a convenience store on Rock Quarry Road.

Deeshone Lamont Jamal Gilmore, 23, Anthony Craven Webster, 21, and Tyshad Jabar Lawson, 18, were arrested Thursday and charged with murder. All three men are being held at the Wake County Detention Center.

Officers responded to the Zee's Food Mart, at 810 Rock Quarry Road, at about 10 p.m. Wednesday. They found Demetrious Delmenta Johnson had been shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said Johnson was not an employee of the store.

The owner of Zee's Food Mart said that Johnson was a regular customer and never caused any trouble.

Police did not say whether Gilmore, of 1917 Peach Creek Court, knew the victim or what led them to suspect him.

Nieasha Hill, 23, who lives near the store, said that crime had been increasing in the area.

"People come to this store a lot, and they don’t know who’s doing what," she said.

Lizbeth Jibier, who works in a shop across the street from Zee's, said her cousin was on duty at the time of the shooting.

"They heard noises and people were running. There was a lot of police, so he just closed the door," Jibier said.

She added that her family was considering a move.

"They put cameras up, but it’s not enough," she said. "It’s not safe for us."

The owner of Zee's Food Mart said that he gave police surveillance video from camera mounted around the store.

Considering the victim had quite the record, those mistakes may have very well gotten him killed. The way this played out it sounds gang or drug related, and we all know if you live a life of criminal acts, said life usually catches up to you.

I agree with Ms Brady as well but at some point, folks need to quit pointing fingers at the white people and address the issues within there own race. Until that happens, senseless crimes like this will continue and only get worse. Americans need to come together as one race and make this country great again where our youth can grow up without having to worry about becoming another statistic. Yes, whites commit crimes also and need to be dealt with but there is a serious problem within the African American populatin that needs to be confronted by the law abiding African American people and until that happens you will continue to see comments like below. Everybody is fed up with what is happening in this country. If you cannot be a productive citizen in this society then I do not have any use for you. To me, if a white man attacks a LEO and he is shot and killed then he deserved it, plain and simple.

More fine parenting. It seems this generation of these young men have been failed. Moms and Dads have let down this generation. #Lostkidsbadparenting

Does it really take 3 boys to kill one?

Still say the NAACP should be focusing on crime rates in their own neighborhoods instead of routinely race baiting folks and playing the race card. Just saying.....

We must ban food marts, obviously.
