Man killed in Rocky Mount shooting

A Rocky Mount man died Monday night after being shot in a house on Sunset Avenue.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Rocky Mount man died Monday night after being shot in a house on Sunset Avenue. Authorities found Jermaine La'Tray Flowers, 20, when they responded to a shooting call at 737 Sunset Ave. around 11:30 p.m.

An unknown man fired multiple rounds into the house, which had 15 occupants at the time, authorities said. One other person was injured. The unknown man, between 5-feet 8-inches and 5-feet 10-inches tall, may have fled on foot after the shooting. Police said a man wearing a blue shirt and dark pants was seen running from the area toward Western Avenue.
