Man killed in Raleigh hit-and-run

Raleigh police are looking for the driver and vehicle that hit Dwight Emory Smith, 26, Saturday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are looking for the driver and vehicle that hit a man lying on a road Saturday night and then drove off.

Investigators said Dwight Emory Smith, 26, was lying on Pettigrew Street near New Bern Avenue around 9:45 p.m. when he was struck.

Smith died at WakeMed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pay cash rewards for information leading to an arrest, and callers can remain anonymous.
