Man killed in motorcycle wreck in north Raleigh

A wreck involving a motorcycle and car in north Raleigh left one driver dead Sunday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A motorcycle driver died following a collision with another vehicle Sunday night in north Raleigh.

The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hollenden Drive and Spring Forest Road.

Raleigh police said Reychel Larishna Campos McGregor, 19, was driving a sedan west on Spring Forest Road when she tried to turn left on Hollenden Drive and collided with a motorcycle driven by Joseph Edwin Alles, 54.

Alles was taken to WakeMed, where he died from his injuries. A passenger on his motorcycle, Wendy Ingram Sparta, 48, was also taken to the hospital and was listed in fair condition Monday morning.

Neither McGregor nor the passenger in her vehicle was seriously injured.

McGregor faces charges of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, failure to yield the right of way and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.
