Man killed in Goldsboro hit-and-run; authorities searching for suspect

Officials are searching for a suspect after a man was killed in a hit-and-run Saturday.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police are searching for a suspect after a man was killed in a hit-and-run Saturday evening.

Around 11:30 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a crash involving a pedestrian near America's Best Value Inn on US-70.

At the scene, they determined that Windom Levi Elliot, 39, of Arizona, was struck by a pick-up truck while walking along the road. Elliot died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities are searching for the driver, who fled the scene before police arrived.

Investigators say the suspect could be driving a Ford F-150 pick-up truck (or something similar) with a bed cover. They believe the car to be a between model year 2004 and 2008. The truck's right headlight and right side view mirror may be damaged.
