— Police on Thursday identified a man who was found dead in a Durham house early Monday.

Officers found the bodies of Martin Martinez, 42, and Toni Fowler, 46, inside their 111 Lynn Road home after a concerned relative asked police to check on the home. The relative told police that cars were parked outside the house, but no one answered the door.

No cause of death has been released, but investigators labeled the deaths homicides. Police said the slayings were not random.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 29322, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

    @ runinlat-
    This happened a few weeks ago - it's in the news again b/c they just identified the body. It's not ANOTHER murder, calm down and don't start double counting.

    @DeathRow-
    Are you including domestic violence as an illegal activity? I'd wager a cold beer domestic violence is accountable for more break-in related deaths than those stemming from illicit activities (ie, drug sales). Just a guess, I'd love to see the data.

    Although some people are murdered in random home breakins, its usually tied to some kind of an illegal activity. So I wouldn't be shocked to hear of a connection to illegal activities.
