<b>SANFORD, N.C.</b> — A Chatham County man died Wednesday night in a house fire near Sanford, authorities said.

The fire destroyed most of the home, at 2136 River Forks Road, and the body of 47-year-old James Taylor was found inside, authorities said.

Investigators from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Chatham County Fire Marshal’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigations are trying to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
