Man killed by Amtrak train near Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Authorities say a Burlington man has been killed after he was struck by an Amtrak train pulling into the station in Burlington.
Investigators said the collision happened around 6:15 p.m. Saturday with a train on the way from Raleigh to Charlotte.
The train stopped just yards from the station, but authorities kept it in place for an hour as paramedics helped the victim, Reginald Jerome Clark, 26, of Baldwin Road, and police investigated.
No one on the train was injured.
