RALEIGH, N.C. — A man shot at a Raleigh home early Tuesday has died, police said.

Police responding to a call found the man shot at a home in the 4400 block of Waterbury Road around 3:30 a.m. He was taken to WakeMed, where he later died. Police did not release more details, including the victim's name.

Residents said they didn't hear anything Monday night from the home, but they were unnerved by the shooting in the quiet, largely elderly neighborhood.

"You wonder if it's any of your friends or whatever, but you just don't know," resident Sylvia Finch said.

Residents said a man recently moved into the rental home but didn't interact with neighbors much. He worked on cars at the house and had a lot of people in out and out, they said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.
