Man jailed after allegedly resisting arrest on 2006 bad check charge

A man who passed a bad check in 2006 managed to avoid authorities until Saturday, when Raleigh police arrived to serve an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man who passed a bad check in 2006 managed to avoid authorities until Saturday, when Raleigh police arrived to serve an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Police allege Kenya D. Norwood, 37, of 4709 Dansey Drive in Raleigh, hit an officer in the face and then attempted to run when they tried to arrest him.

He was caught and was taken to Wake County jail on charges of simple, worthless check, assault on a government official and resisting arrest. He was being held on $7,000 secured bond.
