Man charged in Raleigh shooting

Posted December 28, 2012

— A man was arrested Friday and charged in a Thursday night shooting at 18 S. Fisher St., Raleigh police said.

Zollie Leroy Jones Jr., 23, was transported to WakeMed with serious injuries.

Tyrone David Stewart, 35, no address available, was charged with attempted murder.

The investigation of the case, which is continuing, has determined that Jones and Stewart know each other and that the shooting wasn't a random act, police said.

    Vincent Vega,
I`m sure those are 2010-2011 numbers and from what source? My cynical post was to show that people think Raleigh is crime free when its not. It has been hitting the headlines with stabbing and shootings at a rate just as high as or higher than Durham lately.
Nation median of crime rate per sq mile is 39.3
    Durham is 45
    Raleigh is 60
Your more likely to be a victim of crime in Wake/Raleigh than in Durham according to these stats on Neighborhood Scout for 2011
I stay out of Raleigh since my family and friends have been victims of crime 4 times there( one via gunpoint) vs 0 for Durham...I spend all week in Durham to boot. Never seen or been a victim of crime there in 23yrs.

How can a post be to similar if it was never posted ? wrals people need to think

Wake County (includes Cary, Raleigh and other towns): 2,836.6 crimes per 100,000 people
Durham County: 5,582.5 crimes per 100,000 people

While both cities had about the same number of violent crimes (R) 1739 to (D) 1725, Durham had 10 more murders than Raleigh, also take into account the population of Raleigh at 416K and Durham at 233K

Another shooting in Raleigh? There is no way as this "only" happens in Durham from reading posts on here. Hope the person will recover from their injuries and I hope they catch the shooter..
