— Raleigh police on Thursday were investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital around midnight.

According to authorities, a man who was a passenger in a Ford Crown Victoria traveling on Green Road near Brockton Drive was grazed in the head by a bullet. The gunshot shattered the left rear passenger window of the car.

When police arrived on the scene, they also found a white SUV that had been hit on Green Castle Court, off Brockton Drive. Authorities believe the Crown Victoria hit the SUV after the shooting.

Back in the 80s and 90s the mini city area was a nice area.

Why would anyone want to live in Raleigh?

  • Scubagirl Apr 12, 2012

"That has to be the worst area in all of Raleigh.

NO IT'S NOT. Not as nice as it once was but certainly not the worst in the city. They should have left the soccer fields instead of building all those apartments (IMHO). Most of the property is fairly well kept up along Green Rd but I don't go over there at night.

We need a controlled burn to weed out all of the parasites in this part of Raleigh.

40andtired - you speak of "noone" - shouldn't the first letter of his last name be upper case? And, since he causes so much trouble, shouldn't you provide a first name as well?

It seems to me that the majority of the problem people in this area live in the apartments on the west side of Green Road and those down off of New Hope Church. Most of the houses to the east of Green seem to be kept up and occupied by homeowners who take pride in their property so it is a shame that they have to live near those apartment complexes.

I live in this neighborhood that you are so quick to judge. Most of my neighbors, as well as myself, are law abiding, hard working people. It only takes one bad element to ruin the reputation of many. For your sakes, I hope noone comes onto your street at midnight and you find yourself having no control over a stranger's behavior.

I think it is about time to talk to NE Raleigh PD precinct(s) and at city meetings...something needs to be done about rising crime in this area. I have a police scanner and I even heard a RPD officer call this area "shady". A lot of police presence needs to stay in the area at all times until it gets better.

This happened down the street from the Townhouse fires in the other article.
