Man injured in fight near popular Raleigh bars

One person was injured during a fight in the parking lot behind a popular bar on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh early Saturday morning, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was injured during a fight in a parking lot behind a section of popular bars on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh early Saturday morning, police said.

According to police a group of people got into a fight in the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue around 2:20 a.m Saturday. 

The victim, 23-year-old Anthony McDonald Jr., told police he was assaulted by multiple suspects and was punched, kicked, and cut by a knife. 

McDonald suffered a laceration to his head and was taken to WakeMed for treatment of his injuries, which are non life-threatening. 

According to police the suspects left the scene and have not yet been identified. Anyone with information that might assist detectives is asked to either call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-4357 or to go to the CrimeStoppers Web site at www.raleighcrimestoppers.org.

The investigation is ongoing.
