— A man was seriously injured in a drive-by shooting along North Driver Street in Durham around 1 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital. He did not have ID on him, and police have not learned his name.

Police said they are looking for a red Pontiac Grand Am. They have not determined a motive or suspects in the case.

Police said another man with minor gunshot wounds came to Durham Regional Hospital, but they aren't sure if his injuries are related to the drive-by.

braddavis -- lol, no I wasn't saying that no men in Durham have killed their wives; I think you read my comment and took one part of it and turned it into your own interpretation. I was just playing on the point that the other poster made about the two high profile murders that have been in recent news (Cooper and Young) where one was convicted, and the other currently on trial for killing their wives. Plus the fact that they both took place in the Raleigh area. I acknowledge that all types of crime happens in Durham, just as it does everywhere else. That's all. :)

My comment above was in reference to drive by shootings in Durham not necessarily crime in general. Durham has a drive by at least once a week. You would be really hard pressed to say this wasn't true.

Hows that gun registration working out Durham? Why isn't the good Rev. Barber saying anything about all this? Probably because it's alot harder to make gang bangers listen than it is to disrupt a formal meeting.

I would no more be on Driver Street in Durham at 1am than Bloodworth Street in Raleigh at 1am.

deutschgirl89, so what you're saying is no men in Durham have killed their wives????? Sally Peterson? Duke lax...even though we should classify that as Raleigh because Ms. Mangum lived in Raleigh, right? If given the choice between leveling Afghanistan or Durham, I'd take all of Durham and as an appetizer you can throw in there most of southeast Raleigh.

The Durham summer recreation programs have begun! It will be another long hot (and bloody) summer in good ole bull city.

@kbrown05 -- LOL! You are so right! Durham is definitely not the only city in the triangle or NC with crimes like these. Great point with the murder cases. I guess the difference between Raleigh/Cary crimes and the rest of NC is that the men here like to kill their wives versus gang activity or random killings everywhere else. Either way, crime is going to exist and EVERYBODY is capable of doing things wrong.

It's funny how people on these boards act like Durham is the only city in the area with crime. Two high profile murder cases are going on right now and where did they take place? I guess when you are a grown man with a Bart Simpson avatar you can't expect but so much.

The Bronx doesn't even have as many drive-bys as Durham.
