Man in jail after firing pellet gun during road rage incident

A man is in jail after firing a pellet gun at a vehicle during a road rage incident in Pasco.

PASCO, WA — A man is in jail after firing a pellet gun at a vehicle during a road rage incident in Pasco.

Benjamin Showalter, 39, was arrested at an apartment complex at Road 68 and Chapel Hill.

Police received a call at about 9:30 a.m. that a driver was honking at the victim near Road 76 and Burden Boulevard. The angry driver illegally passed the victim, then pulled off into a parking lot and they exchanged words as the victim drove past.

Showalter is accused of firing six shots at the the victim's car, striking the passenger's side of the windshied, before fleeing on Road 68.

Officers spotted the Showalter at an unrelated traffic stop in the area.

He was booked into Franklin County Jail on an assault charge.
