Man hospitalized following attempted robbery in Durham

Posted June 11, 2013

— An 18-year-old man was taken to a hospital late Monday after being hit on the head with a gun during an attempted robbery, Durham police said.

Officers responding to the 200 block of Cook Road about 11:15 p.m. found the man with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said he was approached by another man who demanded money. When the victim refused, the man hit him on the head with a gun and fired a shot that did not strike anyone.

The man fled the area without taking anything from the victim.

No other information was released.

Because people from Raleigh always have bad comments about crime in Durham - more goes on it Raleigh than Durham! I love the Bull City! Lived here for 35 years. Don't care what town you are in these days - there is crime!

Most every time an article about a crime occurring in Durham appears someone indicates that crimes occur in Raleigh too, which of coarse is true, but why bring it up?

    What's that about Raleigh?

You have to be pretty stupid to refuse to give money to someone who is robbing you at gunpoint! He's lucky he only got hit on the head.
