Man, homes struck by bullets in Fayetteville

Authorities said officers responded to a report of a shooting along the 5200 block of Catalpa Road at about 7:50 p.m. and found two houses that sustained damage from an unknown suspect who fired a gun in the area.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating after gunshots struck two homes and injured a man Thursday night.

Authorities said officers responded to a report of a shooting along the 5200 block of Catalpa Road at about 7:50 p.m. and found two houses that sustained damage from an unknown suspect who fired a gun in the area.

One man was also wounded and taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition Thursday night.

The name of the man shot was being withheld until family members could be notified.
