Man hit on Interstate 95 near Selma

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that happened Sunday evening.

Details were limited Sunday night, but authorities said the man was walking along Interstate 95 near Selma when he was struck around 7:15 p.m.

He was taken to WakeMed for injuries that were not life-threatening, authorities said.

A description of a vehicle was not available.

There isn't any way that I would walk along any interstate highway,death wish perhaps!

I don't know that I would stop on an interstate unless I knew they were seriously hurt. I'd call the law... somebody could through something in front of you to make you stop, thinking you'd hit them and then rob/kill you.

Question... If you hit a pedestrian on the Interstate, and you stop and call for help, can they charge you with a crime for hitting an ILLEGAL pedestrian? I ask that because its supposed to be illegal for pedestrians to be on ANY Interstate in the US.

Glad he's going to be OK, but IF folks are going to walk along the interstate, or any highway for that matter, they should walk FACING traffic.
