— A Raleigh man was sentenced Monday to life in prison for the stabbing death of his former girlfriend last year.

Mwanza Rama Bennett, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Lorrielle Watkins, 29. She was found dead outside the Trees & Leaves apartment complex on Kent Road on May 1, 2007.

Bennett was arrested a short time later after he fled the scene and wrecked the vehicle he was driving.

Watkins was a nursing student with one semester left of school and the single mother of an 11-year-old autistic son who was inside the apartment when she was killed, family members said.

Many young men in our society have lost the true meaning of life and it's joys. A good "Godly" fear has to be put back into all our lives. Men stand up and teach your sons how to really care for your wife, Mother's and sister again!!

It is better than 15 years like Mark Bowling received. He may have well pulled the trigger in killing his wife. What is the difference really.
