Posted August 5, 2009

— One man has been sentenced to prison and a second ordered to finish his education after they were convicted of a February shooting outside Clayton High School.

Nobbie Lee Dubose III, 18, of 219 Cottonwood Drive in Clayton, was sentenced to 44 months in prison for discharging a firearm on educational property. Rasheive Dashawn Ray, 16, of 860 Taft St. in Selma, pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact and was ordered to finish high school and perform some community service.

Dubose fired two shots in a parking lot at Clayton High on Jan. 27 while a basketball game was being played in the school gymnasium, police said. One bullet struck a brick wall outside the gymnasium, but no injuries or damage were reported.

He should be ordered to finish high school behind bars! What a joke. Does the court really think this will put an end to his criminal career path?
