Fayetteville police responding to a wreck found a man who had been injured in a shooting just minutes earlier Friday afternoon.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police responding to a wreck found a man who had been injured in a shooting just minutes earlier Friday afternoon.

The victim was shot inside a vehicle in the 700 block of Newport Road in the Montclair subdivision around 4:30 p.m., police said. His friend started driving them to the hospital and got into a wreck at Village Drive and Roxie Avenue.

The gunshot victim, whose name wasn't released, was treated at a local hospital.
