GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Investigators are trying to figure out how a man ended up with head trauma on the side of the road in Goldsboro.

Carlos Ivan Carrizales-Carrizales, 17, of Mount Olive, was found at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday near a strip club on U.S. Highway 117.

Investigators said they are looking into the man's injuries as related to a motor vehicle accident, but they aren't ruling out the possibility of assault because of the nature of the injuries.

Carrizales-Carrizales was taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. His condition was unknown.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Goldsboro Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or to send a text message to Crime Stoppers at 919-273-6585.
