Harrells, N.C. — The Sampson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 23-year-old man who deputies found while responding to reports of multiple gunshots at a home Wednesday.
A neighbor called 911 around 2:20 p.m., and deputies responding to the scene at 130 Castle Lane in Harrells found the front door to the home partially opened.
Inside, they found the body of Christopher Perice Owens, of Garland. There were obvious signs of trauma to Owens' body, and deputies found multiple bullet holes in the walls, authorities said. No one else was inside.

Neither victims lived at the residence, authorities said.
