Moore County authorities were searching Friday for a 26-year-old man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man late Thursday. 

<b>VASS, N.C.</b> — Moore County authorities were searching Friday for a 26-year-old man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man late Thursday. 

According to the Vass Police Department, Carlos Terrell McLaughlin, of 262 Heron Road, Carthage, shot and killed 25-year-old Lonnie Jermaine Hines, of Aberdeen, inside a home on Lincoln Avenue at about 11 p.m. Thursday. 

McLaughlin is charged with murder, felony first-degree burglary and assault on a female. 

Neighbors said McLaughlin banged on the door of the home and went inside before getting into an altercation with Hines. 

Anyone with information about McLaughlin's whereabouts should call the Vass Police Department at 910-947-2911 or the Moore County Sheriff's Office at 910-947-2931.
