RALEIGH, N.C. — A man fell to his death while working at a construction site Thursday morning.

Gabriel Andrade, 30, was working on scaffolding at 5741 Goodstone Drive when he fell about five stories, police said. Andrade was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe no foul play was involved. The state Department of Labor is looking into the incident, which is standard with all workplace accidents.

Thursday's death is the second Raleigh construction accident in two days.

Three construction workers were injured at North Carolina State University Wednesday afternoon after the platform they stood on gave way.

The workers were helping a crane operator lift a steel beam in place inside a construction area at the Talley Student Center when the 8-foot platform they stood on gave in.

The three workers fell about eight feet to the ground.

One person hurt his back, another injured his leg and the third had a head injury. All three were taken to WakeMed.

None of their injuries was life-threatening, a campus spokesman said.
